Oh, I like this photo, despite not having any idea who the Kistlers are. A brief glimpse of farm-life at the turn of the century. A pig and a chicken in the foreground. The young girl in the center-front holds a cat, and neither of them stay still quite long enough to keep in focus. And the lady in the back "poses" as if to feed the chickens.Wednesday, April 25, 2007
17. Sam Kistler's Farm

Samuel Kistler was a cousin of Grammy's, I've forgotten exactly what branch. They kept in touch, he and his family used to visit Grammy and Grandpa now and then. Sam became a minister, and had a powerful, booming voice. But he looked VERY Jewish, and as a kid I just couldn't figure out how he could be related and be a Christian minister. I think the boy in center back is Sam. His father most likely was named Samuel too.
