Cherry Hill Mall (e)

A single inside shot. A very kewl fountain in front, and some sort of clothing store behind it. Cherry Hill Mall still exists today, albeit with a completely different set of stores. It even has its own entry in Wikipedia (how many shopping malls can claim that?), which is where I got some of the background info for this pics.

OK, Bamberger's, Woolworth, and Strawbridge & Clothier (this one) - all 3 are now gone, I think. They were all big, and probably people thought they'd last forever, but retail is tough. Maybe Walmart and KMart will disappear too.

K-Mart, at least out here, has really gone downhill over the last 25 years. I don't see a long future for it.

Wal-Mart is building like crazy, but is running into increasing neighborhood resentment and opposition. Some is probably politics, but some of it is due to the number of local ma-&-pa businesses that will inevitably go under if/when Wal-Mart moves in.
