Christmas 1914. And for the first time (that I can tell), Grandpa has added a railroad to the display. There's a new picture just to the right of the top of the Christmas tree. Or else, the display was put in a different corner of the room.

Grandpa made all the scenery and the house. I have one little park bench. The story is, a week or so before Christmas, the front room was declared off-limits to the kids, and he would set up the Christmas yard and tree, not to be unveiled until Christmas morning. The kids would try to look down the heating register in the bedroom above, but the angle of it didn't provide much of a view.

i think we got one of those little park benches too. and we may have gotten some of the outside-border fence, although not this particular fencing (unless Grandpa re-painted it every couple years).
