24. Grandpa's Favorite Self-Portrait

This was his closing photo in the earlier album. Now he gives it a year and a place. It's a fantastic photo - in sharp focus, and it has a nice balance to it. I feel like this is the way he wants to be remembered. Young, dashing, self-confident, and smiling.

So what's more to say than listed for the last time we saw this? I still like the socks, but I hadn't noticed those "bow-ties" before (for lack of a better description) on his shoes. Are they part of the sock, part of the shoe, part of the shoelaces, or a separate fashion item?

Oh yeah, and he's not wearing a wedding ring. Okay, neither do I, so I can't talk. Maybe I get my discomfort with jewelry from him.
