Let It Snow!

Oh my, but I do miss Berks County winters. Of course, I never had to drive around in them, or work in them. I'm guessing this is the backyard of 232. But if the house is to the left of this pic, then that's the 234 backyard in the background, and it doesn't look familiar to me.

jeez, the internet porn business must be reeling from the downturn in the economy if they're manually visiting blog sites and leaving come-ons.

Terry, you are right. 232 back yard looking at the 'shop' in the back yard of 234. I vaguely remember this pile of snow and the 'snow caves' Dad cut into them. Looks like a real wet snow.

that's a lot of snow! i've heard that Berks County doesn't get these severe snow storms anymore. global warming, perhaps. alternatively, there is a theory that we're just coming out of a "mini Ice Age", regardless of global warming.

Yes, we got plenty of snow in those days. And great long icicles hanging from the eaves sometimes too. These days, the media makes a fuss if we get just 3 or 4 inches of snow. But now the thing is ice storms, which are a lot worse (and no fun at all) than snow. The boys made these igloos in the back yard, and also near the front gate. Behind the house was a southern exposure, and they would melt sooner. Janet
