Here's the first set of pics from one of Grandpa Ludwig's old photo albums. These seven pics are all from the King Frost Carnival in 1914. This photo was posted already (although I went back and redid the enhancements. See comments for this pic at the original post below.Not much to add, except that upon re-examination, that's not a booth behind the band; it's one of the floats. The sponsoring company's name is mostly hidden by the band, but the letters appear to be "A. F. ...NE", and they sold stoves.

What a great photo! The float has a big coal range on it, and I guess other "modern" appliances. I recognize the buildings - this is at 2nd and State. The house on the right is still there, and just behind it was the apartment Grammy moved to when she left Washington St. in the 1960s. Her landlord lived in this corner house then. The building on the left became a lumber yard, and was enlarged, and is much changed now.
