Not a clue to this one either. It almost looks like a reclamation project, such as up in the Anthracite region, but I don't think they were even doing that yet back in the 1930s. Janet
Another thought - maybe these were clay pits down around the brick plant (Glen Gery at Shoemakersville). Looks like a lot of shale in those rocks. Janet
